Rocamadour
Rocamadour, a destination for pilgrims and an exceptional site, is one of the most visited sites in France. The village, oscillating between peak season, when tourists and pilgrims flock en masse, and winter when the 600 inhabitants get their peace and quiet back, is looking for a solution to accommodate its visitors. We envisage two intermediary constructions connected to the main car parks. These buildings will function as passageways before beginning the tour; their positioning also indicates the direction to be followed. Each one is made up of a fixed part and a retractable part, which can fold out to enlarge the space during the summer season. A large forecourt receives visitors and supplies an outdoor gallery where a miniature train can be taken to tour the town. Rurally inspired, between a country station and an agricultural hangar, these welcome stations are used as an attraction.
