Moulins à vent
On the esplanade of the Trocadero the wind reigns supreme. This particularity of the Parisian microclimate will be put to good use for the inauguration of the Cité de l’architecture et du Patrimoine: an ephemeral curtain of 2000 little windmills will bring the impassive facade of the palais de Chaillot to life. These mini wind turbines, fixed to a net stretched from top to bottom, will stimulate different ripples with each new gust of wind. Reacting to its environment, the facade will come alive.
