COP 21

20/07/2015

In December 2014, Encore Heureux and its partners Construire, Elioth and Quattrolibri won the competition for the scenographic concept of the COP 21 that will be held at Paris-Bourget late 2015.
In February 2015 we presented our concept, that got validated by the General Secretary of the COP 21 and the United Nations (CNUCC).
We were then asked to develop an offer for the development mission of the concept, as well as a feasibility study to build a plenary room entirely made of solid wood and that could be dismantled and reused. No follow-up nor further mission were offered or given to pursue the general concept or the plenary room, although its technical and economical feasibility got demonstrated. We were only informed that, concerning the plenary room, a “significantly cheaper project” was chosen and that “no architect would be assigned”. A company specialized in event planning and management has been put in charge, despite the need of achieving high artistic and environmental performances, as one may expect for such an event, despite the complexity of the program and despite the necessity of a strict budgetary control. We can only regret this decision, its inconsistency and the discrepancy with the claimed ambitions.
